The cost to Dubai for the
region's biggest underwater tunnel to connect two man-made islands is estimated
at more than 11 billion dollars. The 1.4-kilometer long tunnel,
named 'Arab Tunnel' and purporting to be one of the biggest engineering projects
in the Middle East, will be constructed 6 meters underwater.

The tunnel
will be 40 meters wide and, once completed, vehicles of up to four meters high
will be able to traverse it.
The mammoth project is expected to be
completed in three years.
