Dear Editor The recent attacks on Iraqi shrines and Danish cartoons issue do not herald a modern 'clash of civilisations', but reignite an ancient controversy: the issue of the unfinished business of the reformation in faith. Your paper is interesting, but you lack a perspective when addressing other religions. Please address this.
Mrs Burton (Religious Education Teacher in Leicester) Editor: Your suggestion is worthy of attention. Islamic Times was formed to address issues affecting Muslims. We do consider other religions when publishing our newspaper each month. In fact, we have non muslim readers such as yourself. However, it can be quite difficult at times addressing certain topics with other religions in mind, because despite some similarities, there are vast differences. Some differences can be quite significant to the extent that Muslims will consider blaspehemous or insulting (for example, discussing religions who worship idols), hence these are not addressed.
