Qasim “The Dream” Nisar the Birmingham Super Lightweight kickboxing sensation has done it again going into the record books winning two versions of the European kickboxing title within one week of each other.
In February Qasim did the same with the British titles claiming the ISKA version on one weekend and unifying it with the WAKO version only one week later. Qasim this time went one better with the European crowns winning the first title at a much higher level at the ISKA European Championships in Szentes Hungary in the light continuous discipline and a week later taking on James Dunphy from Kilkenny in Ireland for the ISKA European Full Contact title belt.
Dunphy brought with him a good record and reputation after recently going the distance with the British professional champion at a higher weight class of Welterweight. Qasim totally dominated his opponent from Poland in his finals to the delight of the British fans that attended.
The Championships in Hungary had over 20 countries taking part at the very highest level. Qasim had won this Championship the year before in Germany and along with team mate Azad Khan were the only two members of the British team who managed to regain their titles this year with sound performances in the finals of the competition. Both Qasim and Azad have earned themselves qualification to the World Championships in Poland next year and will be training hard now at the possibility of added the World title to their already impressive medal collection.
The Second Title
Fresh of his title win in Hungary, Qasim was eager to make history and challenge for the full contact European title.
James Dunphy the Irish fighter lived up to his reputation of being a tough opponent taking shot after shot for five rounds. Although bloodied and beaten he was still standing when the final bell rang. 'I am trying to do things the right way, from the junior light continuous ranks, to the amateur full contact and eventually the big picture will be me succeeding in the world of professional full contact kickboxing,' said Qasim.
Qasim thanked his sponsors Premium Halal based in Birmingham for their belief in him and his ability's and support of him throughout the build up to his European title challenge.
