In all the controversy and hype surrounding gay rights, extreme mosques and reality tv programmes, lets not allow your readers to forget the real serious events happening around the world. For example, the fifth anniversary of the first detainees being taken to the illegal prisons at Guantanamo Bay has just passed in January.

These brothers are still being held by America, illegally, without any legal access and against international law and are being subject to regular physical and mental abuse.

When you sit back and take a moment to reflect, one should realise that nothing else matters but the continuing campaign to close this detention facility and allow these brothers to return home to their families and children.
