Iran has claimed that its scientists have discovered a treatment for AIDS, with the formula having a twoyear effect on patients using it for a three-month period.
Iranian minister of health and medical education Kamran Baqeri Lankarani made the claims in September whilst attending the 53rd Regional Committee of the World Health Organisation (WHO). According to Health Ministry officials, scientists have invented a formula to control the symptoms of AIDS.
Lankarani said “The research studies to find out a formula to cure AIDS was initiated during the tenure of two former health ministers and have led to useful results.”
He said that the use of the formula for a three-month period will have clinical effects on patients for a two-year term, comparing it with other medicines which are only effective while being administered. He said that Iranian doctors have experimented with the formula on patients and its two-year effect on the body is “guaranteed”.
Former minister of health and medical education Mohammad Farhadi, who served as executive director of the project for ‘a formula for reinvigorating the immunity system of the body’, told reporters that the project led to the discovery of a formula to control symptoms of AIDS and some other virus-oriented infections.
“A new theory was sponsored in the past five years to invent a formula with herbal and chemical materials to help treat patients who are suffering from weak immunity system. An extensive team comprised of scientists and researchers were designated to conduct research studies on the subject.
“The theory was to determine whether or not it is possible to boost the immunity system of the body. Some 60 projects were initiated to attain the result. However, for the time being, we cannot say that effects of the newly-discovered medicine will remain in the body for the whole life time,” the health minister said.
