Assalaamu alaikum, Your last issue highlighted a roadshow campaign for Sharia compliant finances and mortgages by Lloyds TSB. I just want to say that I am very confused as to how this whole structure works and whether it truly is 'HALAL' as they advertise it to be. I am not criticising these organisations, because I suppose if there was a choice, then perhaps the lesser of two evils is better. However, I think Muslims need to be educated a little more so that they can make an informed decision.

Your comments are worthy of attention Brother Khalil. We have had a few enquiries of this nature. The roadshow campaign which we advertised in our last issue was aimed at promoting the awareness and trying to educate Muslims. The whole concept of Halal finances is an issue which is causing a lot of stir in the UK and we will be addressing that in future issues.
